Daphne is very kindly on loan from the Greens as a broodmare, having retired from serious competition in 2007. We feel incredibly privileged to be able to have the opportunity to breed from this lovely mare and to preserve her genes for posterity.

Daphne needs no introduction to FEI Pony Dressage enthusiasts in the UK and Germany. She was Bundeschampioness in 1997 (4-year-old mares and geldings). In 1999 she was Team Silver medallist at the European Pony Championships with Gemma and was placed in the Individual Final. She won Team Bronze in 2001, 2002 and 2004, and competed internationally in 2005, with three other riders. She had numerous wins and placings at FEI and Medium level in the UK and won the Elementary Restricted National Championships with Gemma in 1999.

When she produces a foal, she will be awarded Verband Premium Status by Westphalia on the basis of her results in sport, having not been shown as a 3 or 4-year-old in the mare shows in Germany. Confirmation of this will complete her illustrious career! She is also an Elite mare courtesy of the SPSS in Britain.

Her sire is the famous Westphalian sire Dressman I. Dressman is one of Germany's most successful sport ponies and breeding stallions. He was 1991 Licensing Champion in Westphalia and Performance Test Champion in 1992, with the fantastic score of 8.55. He has produced over 26 licensed sons and 15 State Premium daughters, including many licensing champions and Elite Mare Show winners. His mother Nadin was German Champion Mare and produced many licensed sons. In sport he won the Bundeschampionate from 1991 - 1994 with four different riders. At FEI level he won European Championship Team Gold 7 times, was Individual European Champion twice (2002 and 2003), won Individual Bronze twice (1994 and 1995), and was the winner of over 100 international pony classes.

Daphne's dam, Diana, produced 5 successful sport ponies from her 11 foals, 4 in dressage and 1 in jumping. Daphne's full brother, Don Ramiro, competed at the Bundeschampionate and successfully represented Germany in dressage at FEI level. He is now competing with a Belgian pony team rider.

Daphne's damsire is Dschingis Khan. He was licensing champion in Westphalia in 1978. He produced 4 licensed sons and 18 State Premium daughters. 39 of his offspring are recorded in the FN records as successful in sport.

Daphne is the perfect lady in all respects and has fitted in well with the mare herd here at Blackington Stud.
